Pärssinen had played well at the World Championship as he recorded three goals, two assists and five points in eight games.

With the World Championship now under his belt, Pärssinen has his sights set on making Finland's 20206 Olympic Team.

“That would mean everything,” Pärssinen said about potentially playing at the Olympics. “That’s for sure a goal for next season. Finland has a lot of good players, so it’s not going to be easy, but that is for sure a goal.”

There’s still a long time before the Olympics begin and Pärssinen has a long offseason ahead of him.

While the 24-year-old forward did not delve into his specific offseason training plans, he emphasized that rest will be important, especially after the season he just went through.

Pärssinen was traded from the Nashville Predators to the Colorado Avalanche in December and a few weeks later he was traded to the New York Rangers.

All of this change in his life was a lot to deal with for Pärssinen.

“I mean of course, I’m going to take off a little bit of time,” Pärssinen said. “It was a tough season for me as well. A lot of changes in the NHL, traded twice. I gotta get together mentally and maybe think what went good, what went bad, and take a break. Whenever I start training, I gotta work on myself. Whenever training starts, I'm going to be ready.”

Shortly after the end of the 2024-25 season, Pärssinen signed a  two-year contract extension with the Rangers, carrying an average annual value of $1.25 million.
