Kailyn Lowry Bravely Shares Her Struggles Following Latest Surgery

“Teen Mom 2” alum Kailyn Lowry is opening up about recently undergoing a breast reduction,  liposuction, and an abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck.

E! News reported that Lowry suggested she wished she had not gone through with the cosmetic procedures during the week of Christmas while filming a January 6 Instagram video. The mother of seven explained that she decided to get the surgeries due to her struggle with body image. She said she believed “to go through this to be skinny is mental illness truly.”

“I pray that my kids never struggle with their body images enough to mutilate their bodies to be skinny,” said Lowry in her Instagram video.

She then said that she “was basically willing to go through any length and do this at Christmas break to be skinny.” Lowry also noted that she was away from her children because she “was in another state for Christmas” to get the surgeries. In addition, she said her fiance, Elijah Scott, was not able to help her following her surgeries.

“I realized that I shouldn’t have put Elijah through all of this,” continued Lowry.

Lowry also issued a warning for those who are interested in getting elective cosmetic surgeries.

“Think once, think twice before you get plastic surgery,” said Lowry.

Kailyn Lowry Spoke About Wanting Another Tummy Tuck in April 2024

In an April 2024 TikTok video, Lowry said she explained why she wanted another abdominoplasty after getting one in 2016. She said her abdominal muscles changed during her pregnancy with her 7-year-old son, Lux.

“I need a tummy tuck revision because right here my muscles are so hard — this is not fat — this is muscles that got ruined during the pregnancy after my tummy tuck,” said Lowry.

According to Page Six, Lowry said undergoing her first tummy tuck “was the best decision [she] ever made” in a January 2024 episode of her former podcast, “Baby Mamas No Drama.” She said, however, that she should have waited to do the procedure until she had all of her children.

“The worst decision I ever made was not waiting until I was done having kids,” said Lowry.

Kailyn Lowry Said She Regretted Getting Her Tubes Tied

During an October 2024 appearance on the “Just Trish” podcast, Lowry said she regretted undergoing a tubal ligation following the birth of her twins, Verse and Valley, 1. She explained that she wished she could have provided Valley, her only daughter, a sister.

“I always wanted her to have a sister. I was like maybe we should have waited until we had like one more girl. Like done IVF with gender selection,” said Lowry on the podcast.
