Kansas City Chiefs DL Charles Omenihu posts recovery update four months after suffering ACL injury

Omenihu suffered a torn ACL against the Baltimore Ravens during the AFC Championship Game. It's a major setback for a guy who is entering a contract year and looking to secure the best deal possible beyond next season.

However, rather than feeling sorry for himself, Omenihu has been posting constant updates about his recovery on social media. His latest came on Monday as he can be seen in the gym doing a 225-pound trap bar dead lift.

Kansas City Chiefs DL Charles Omenihu posts recovery update four months after suffering ACL injury

"4 months post OP," Omenihu said. "225 trap bar deadlift for the first time. I keep all receipts. Doubt if you want. If you support me click the link in my bio & follow my journey."

Omenihu has been fueled by his detractors, calling them out in each of his updates. He certainly seems determined to make it back to the field ahead of schedule. While he'll likely miss the first half of the season, it would be a huge boost for the Chiefs' defense to add a player of Omenihu's caliber down the stretch of the year. He hinted at his potential return after the 2024 NFL schedule release.

Omenihu was a key cog of Kansas City's defensive line last year. In 11 games he recorded seven sacks and 29 pressures, plus another sack and eight more pressures during the playoffs. Getting back to that level of play will be huge in the Chiefs' quest for a three-peat.

If you're further interested in Omenihu's recovery and rehabilitation, the 26-year-old has been documenting his journey on his YouTube channel. He currently has two videos uploaded and several shorts, with more on the way.
