Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Xavier Worthy Has a Tremendous Postseason

Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Xavier Worthy just capped off a postseason for the ages. Even though he was a rookie, he led the postseason in receptions, receiving yards, and tied for the lead in receiving touchdowns. He finished the NFL Playoffs with 19 receptions, 287 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns. He also finished fourth in yards per game. Worthy finished tied with Commanders Wide Receiver Terry McLaurin for most postseason touchdowns.

Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Xavier Worthy Has a Tremendous Postseason

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs failed miserably against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Worthy had the best game of his career by a wide margin. He torched the Eagles secondary for 8 catches, 157 yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. It was Worthy’s first career multi-touchdown game. Will the star wide receiver be able to carry this success into his sophomore campaign?

Kansas City Chiefs Offseason Questions

Coming off an embarrassing performance with a three-peat hanging in the balance, the Kansas City Chiefs will face many questions this offseason. The biggest question for the franchise is the status of future Hall of Fame Tight End Travis Kelce. He is reportedly seriously considering retirement. Regardless of Kelce’s retirement decision, Worthy will look to take on a bigger role in the team’s offense in 2025.

Even though Quarterback Patrick Mahomes played arguably the worst game of his career on the biggest, he will come back with a vengeance in 2025. Worthy will join a receiving core that will include Rashee Rice. That dynamic duo will be the best Mahomes will have at his disposal since Tyreek Hill was with the franchise.

Final Thoughts

Worthy burst onto the scene after having the fastest 40-yard dash time in NFL Combine history. Even though his speed was undeniable, his slight frame was concerning heading into the NFL Draft. Luckily, Mahomes and Head Coach Andy Reid were the perfect landing spot for the speedster. Worthy had a solid regular season but had a coming out party in the NFL Playoffs. A great postseason run should bode well for Worthy as he enters his first offseason as a professional.
