Bachelor Nation got to know and love Kathy Swarts on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor,” and now again as she’s currently giving love another shot on the beaches of “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 10.
Last week, fans found out even more about Kathy as one of her biggest and juiciest secrets was revealed on the show, winning her time in the VIP Suite with Keith Gordon.
Now, she’s dishing all about her big secret and revealing the truth behind it on “Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour,” which she co-hosts with fellow Bachelor Nation star Susan Noles.
While reflecting on that shocking moment, she joked, “I’m just gonna tell you this was Kathy’s biggest coup she’s ever made in life.”
Kathy continued, saying, “Now do you want the truth? The truth is when Jesse [Palmer] said it was going to be a great prize, I thought, ‘I wanna win this prize.’”
The Golden Bachelor Nation star then shared her winning strategy, which included using clever word play.
She said, “So what did I do? I thought, ‘Okay, I’ve gotta make up a secret that the young ones will vote for. And what do young ones want to talk about and think about? Sex.’ So, Kathy was very careful in her word choice.”
Kathy went on to reveal the real truth behind her secret and what she actually meant when she wrote it.
“I didn’t say ‘husband’ because then they would know it was a Golden,” she shared. “So I said, ‘I slept with someone when my partner was in the other room.’ The partner was my husband, Daryl. The other person was my, at the time, 2-year-old son Douglas who was throwing his guts up. And to my husband, I said, ‘Go sleep in another room. I’ve got this, I’ll take care of it.’ So I was sleeping with a child who was projectile vomiting and my husband was sleeping in the other room.”
