As Bravo fans know, Kelly Dodd joined RHOC during season 11. She was fired in 2021 after making some controversial statements about the global COVID-19 pandemic and being accused of racism on multiple occasions. Fans and fellow OC Housewives called for her firing a year before she was fired.
Since then, the 49-year-old has kept up with the Bravoverse and frequently comments on drama on and off the show via her podcast, The Rick and Kelly Show.
Recently, Kelly appeared on Teresa Giudice‘s podcast, Turning The Tables By Teresa Giudice.
During the interview, the two reality TV stars discussed all things Real Housewives and Bravo.
When asked why Andy Cohen fired her, Kelly said, “I don’t think he fired me [because] he wanted to fire me. I think Bravo and Evolution[production company] wanted to fire me. I think he probably had some say, but Andy and I have always had a good rapport with each other.”
“I think he’s an awesome person. I like him,” Kelly continued.
The former Real Housewives of Orange County star then addressed the lawsuits and accusations that have been hurled at Andy and the reality TV network.
Kelly said, “And when that Leah McSweeny came on, I’m like, ‘they don’t ever force you to drink. They don’t force you to do anything on these shows.’ He texted me and said, ‘Thank you for sticking up for me.’”
She then added, “Because I cannot stand Brandi Glanville, and I cannot stand that Leah McSweeny. I just, you know, like I’m team Andy Cohen on that.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
