Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta have made no secret of their disappointment over Kenya Moore not having confessionals for season 16. However, their hopes were recently heightened when she announced she’d be taking to her YouTube channel to share her thoughts on the season, her issues with Brittany “Brit” Eady, and how she feels about the network’s decision to cease filming with her.
Kenya announced that she’d be sharing her thoughts on season 16 on Instagram. However, she pushed back the original date to April 18. Sadly, when that day came, she pushed it back again and only released a teaser before later unleashing the full video of herself giving commentary from her hair spa.
There were several significant talking points from Kenya’s YouTube video, and fortunately, Bravo Talk Too Much on Instagram was able to capture them. In the first notable clip, Kenya discussed the origin of the pictures of Brit and debunked a few rumors.
She started by saying, “Porsha, in her recent YouTube, alluded to a Housewife sending me the photos that were shown during my spa opening.” Fans can then see a clip of Porsha talking. The former Miss USA then said, “Number one, that’s a lie. That’s a lie. The photos were online on various porn sites. Many porn sites.”
Kenya then said that the pictures she revealed are not revenge porn. She continued, “I engaged a local attorney who advised me about the federal law as well as the Georgia state law. I shared photos that were readily available online. I did not commit revenge porn.”
From there, Kenya reiterated that she was wrong and that she’s “very sorry.” However, she also questioned why anyone would participate in a reality show with a past they wanted to keep hidden. Then, her producer asked about Cynthia Bailey and if she felt that she had thrown her under the bus. Kenya replied, “I’m not going to talk about Cynthia.”
Many people have questioned Kenya’s methods for dealing with feeling threatened. Specifically, some wonder if she went to production or perhaps called the police. According to her, “I did go to producers. Number one, when we were there, Porsha and I stayed back while everyone was leaving, and Brit Eady was irate. She was yelling and screaming, and it was then that I heard her say the following words: ‘That’s why I keep a [pistol] for bi***** like you.'”
She continued, “You didn’t hear it. I heard it. It didn’t make the edit.” From there, Kenya said that she “immediately” went to the showrunner to report what happened. She also said that Porsha can vouch for this and that she saw her visibly shaken after hearing the gun comment. Kenya went on, “Not only did I go to the producer then, but I also went to the production company that night.” This was three weeks into filming the season.
Kenya then said, “You guys were not there. You don’t know how intense it got. It got so intense.” Kenya then showed a previous video of Brittany saying that she has a gun on her at all times, and she mentioned how she lied last summer about this not being her character when the reports of her threatening Kenya first surfaced.
Additionally, Kenya brought up her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, where Andy Cohen mentioned how the investigation found she didn’t have a gun. To Kenya, this was inadequate as they seemingly only asked if she had a gun, which anyone could lie about.
She went on to say that she has “proof otherwise” that the RHOA newbie did have a gun. Kenya also discussed how the investigation didn’t involve a search. She went on to question how the situation would be treated differently on any other Housewives show.
“If things had been handled differently, I would have never felt the need to protect myself or escalate,” Kenya added.
Next, the topic of the reunion came up, and whether Kenya will be there. “I haven’t been invited to the reunion. In fact, I was invited and then disinvited a few months ago,” Kenya revealed.
She continued, “The disrespect is insane. You know, from me being someone who has always loved Real Housewives of Atlanta and always wanting to see them win, to being shut out, I think it’s really odd, right? To be erased from the history of the show, to not be in the opening credits, and to not have confessionals.”
She added, “When Kim Zolciak left the show, she got a whole new show. She was in the confessionals. She was a peachholder. You got girls taking glasses and knocking each other upside the head with real glasses on Jersey. You’ve had people talking about porn on Jersey. You’ve had people exposing a real life revenge porn case on Vanderpump Rules. They’re working. They haven’t been made to look like a scumbag or a villain. Really, that’s how I’m treated? That’s pretty bad, I would say. So I don’t anticipate an invitation.”
Despite Kenya’s much-felt absence, fans can watch new episodes of RHOA on Sunday nights.
