Fans of the Real Housewives franchise were left reeling after it was announced Kenya Moore was fired from the show.
The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star was let go from the Bravo reality show after she allegedly displayed sexual images of her co-star, Brittany Eady at a public event. “Kenya was suspended for allegedly depicting Brittany performing a sexual act at the grand opening of her Kenya Moore Hair Spa in Atlanta, from images allegedly found online," a source told Entertainment Tonight in the days prior to her firing.
After the news was announced, Kenya took to social media to update her followers, "#TEAMTWIRLFOREVER You are the best fans anyone could ever ask for, and I love you all so very much. Always and forever."
Kenya originally joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta during Season 5 and, despite taking a one-season break during Season 11, is one of the most recognizable Bravo stars. Kenya Moore's villainous personality, erratic behavior and frequent controversies led to her appearing on a host of other reality shows including The Celebrity Apprentice, The Worst Cooks in America and Dancing with the Stars.
Real Housewives' Firing Kenya Moore Exposes A Major Double Standard
Kenya Moore's firing led to a conversation about the fairness of the situation. Kenya is not the first housewife to act inappropriately towards a co-star, but it is rare that such an iconic cast member should be fired.
During the filming of the Season 6 reunion, Kenya's co-star Porsha Williams leaped off the couch and knocked Kenya and Andy Cohen over. Kenya pressed charges against Porsha, which resulted in the star being charged with misdemeanor battery. Despite this, Porsha was not fired and was only demoted to 'Friend of' for two seasons.
Kenya's firing was also compared to Tom Sandoval's behavior on Vanderpump Rules. “But Tom Sandoval can screen record Rachel ‘Raquel’ Leviss touching herself without her consent and end up on [The Traitors]????” wrote a user wrong on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, to which Kenya Moore responded to on the social media website.
'Real Housewives of Atlanta' is known for its fiery wives and big feuds.
RHOBH star Brandi Glanville took to social media to give her opinion on Kenya Moore's firing, noting that more physical altercations have happened and been encouraged on the reality TV franchise by producers.
"Women are physically fighting on RHNJ & that seems to be ok with producers. Where is HR now? Also [I'm] pretty sure producers pushed Kenya to show that video. They know what is going to happen before it does — Just like they all knew of [Taylor's] physical abuse as it was happening[.]"
