Kim Zolciak is embracing a fresh chapter in her personal life. She confirmed during a recent television appearance that she has found love again following her ongoing divorce proceedings with former NFL player Kroy Biermann.

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum opened up about her new relationship during Thursday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen. She shared details about meeting someone special after spending nearly two years focused on her family and work responsibilities.

Finding Love Through Friendship

When host Andy Cohen directly asked the 47-year-old reality star if she was currently seeing anyone, Zolciak didn’t hesitate to confirm the romance. “Yes,” she responded, explaining that she had met her new partner “through a friend.”

The mother of six expressed genuine enthusiasm about this new relationship, describing her partner in glowing terms. “Finally. He’s just great,” she gushed during the interview. “You know, I sat in the house and worked and tried to take care of everything for 20 months and then I finally met someone great.”

Zolciak’s positive outlook on dating comes after a challenging period following her separation from Biermann in May 2023. The couple had been married since 2011 and share four children together: Kroy Jr., Kash, and twins Kaia and Kane. Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s two daughters from previous relationships, Brielle and Ariana.

Her daughter Ariana has been supportive of her mother’s decision to explore new relationships. “She’s exploring her options, and she should,” the 23-year-old told Us Weekly in April 2025. “She’s out there and she deserves it.”

Ongoing Divorce Proceedings

Despite moving forward romantically, Zolciak acknowledged that her legal separation from Biermann remains unresolved two years after their initial filing. “It’s still in process,” she confirmed during her “WWHL” appearance.

The reality television personality expressed hope for improved communication with her ex-husband, particularly regarding their children’s welfare. “I would definitely prefer to communicate more regarding the children but it’s just not there right now,” she shared.

Ariana has also spoken candidly about the extended nature of her parents’ divorce proceedings. “I think it gets hard sometimes. It’s been a really long divorce,” she told Us Weekly. “[It’s been] two and a half [expletive] years, and it’s still not even almost done.”

The family has faced additional challenges during this transition period, including financial difficulties that Zolciak has addressed publicly. During her “WWHL” appearance, she explained that financial pressures led to difficult decisions. “Actually, the rug was pulled out from the Zolciaks and Ariana’s money was spent on bills, to be honest. I was left holding the bag for the family,” she told Cohen.
