Kim Zolciak’s Outstanding Tax Bills, Fees, and Financial Woes — Details

Kim Zolciak's Outstanding Tax Bills, Fees, and Financial Woes - Reality Tea

It’s one thing to live beyond your means in private. It’s another thing entirely to do it on reality TV, surrounded by red solo cups filled with wine, wigs, and Bravo cameras. For years, Kim Zolciak flaunted her fabulous lifestyle, which included private chefs, custom glam rooms, and endless Louis Vuitton. But now? The fantasy has crumbled, and the financial reality is impossible to ignore.

Kim and Kroy Biermann are facing a mountain of debt thanks to crushing tax bills and unpaid credit card balances. And it’s all playing out in real time. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star is no longer dodging drama from her cast-mates. She’s dodging the U.S. government, creditors, and U.S. Marshals.

Kim Zolciak owes a big tax sum

If RHOA fans know anything, they know that the IRS doesn’t play games. And evidently, neither does the Georgia Department of Revenue. According to The Daily Mail, Kim currently owes $1,800,451, according to court filings and tax liens. Perhaps even more upsetting is that the number could be higher if you include late fees and interest. There is another amount of $1,147,834.67, which has yet to be paid off that both Kim and the former NFL player owe. The outlet shared that a federal tax lien was filed against the couple in April 2023 for owing $714,143.90 for their 2018 taxes. Another $330,126.29 for their 2017 taxes, and then $103,564.48 for their 2013 taxes.

This includes federal taxes, state taxes, and penalties that have snowballed due to nonpayment. The situation isn’t a “we forgot to file one year” situation. It’s a pattern and one that’s finally caught up to them. For someone who once bragged about not repeating designer outfits, the idea that Kim has let over one million in taxes go unpaid is telling. It’s the kind of oversight that doesn’t come from a lack of money. It comes from a lack of planning, or worse, delusions of constant Bravo paychecks. Either way, Uncle Sam is done waiting.

U.S. Marshalls forced Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann out of their home

As if the tax drama weren’t enough, things took a turn for Kim when the couple was officially evicted from their Alpharetta McMansion in April by U.S. Marshals. This is the same home that’s been in and out of foreclosure headlines for over a year. The pair had been renting it since it was sold in January for $2.75 million. The idea of Kim being ousted from her dream home by federal officers is a harsh contrast to the luxury brand she built on Bravo.

Kim and Kroy were issued a Georgia state tax lien for $15,104.72 in March 2023. The lien shows that the couple have yet to pay this off. The current payout amount is $17,610.40, and it’s valid through July 7.  It’s not just a fall from grace. It’s a full-on collapse. And for someone who built her identity around “manifesting” and money, this is the kind of real-life consequence that Bravo cameras never quite captured. A statutory lien was filed in August 2024 against Kim and Kroy for unpaid assessments on their former marital home, which totaled $7,972.

Kim Zolciak also has major credit card bills

In addition to the tax debt and foreclosure drama, Kim is also dealing with a mountain of credit card debt. The outlet revealed that Kim owes hundreds of thousands of dollars across multiple cards, including American Express and Saks Fifth Avenue store cards. The breakdown includes missed payments, late fees, and interest that’s been piling up for months. The Biermanns owe a balance well over $200,000 to Simmons Bank, with legal action already underway.

As of October 2024, a “FIFA filing was issued since they failed to pay the principal amount of $226,836.22, plus foreclosure fees of $2,071.57, attorney fees of $1,945.31, interest of $178.51 and court costs of $322, totaling $231,353.61.” This isn’t just about shopping sprees. This is systemic financial mismanagement. Kim’s been living like the Bravo checks never stopped, long after Don’t Be Tardy was canceled and RHOA moved on without her.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
