Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick got engaged last weekend during a romantic Hawaii getaway. Fans are excited that the reality star finally gets to enjoy her ‘happy ever after’.
Fans of Vanderpump Rules have been waiting eight seasons, and five boyfriends, for Kristen Doute to find her Prince Charming. Luke Broderick proposed to his The Valley co-star and sweetheart after two years of dating last week. Absolutely surprised by the moment the reality star has been gushing to friends and fans on social media, who couldn’t be happier for her to be in her “ex-girlfriend era.”
Broderick proposes in ‘total surprise’ moment in Maui
Broderick popped the question to the Vanderpump alum on a boat in Maui, Hawaii, last week.
Kristen Doute shared pictures of the special moment, and the stunning rock, to her Instagram.
Apparently, Luke had told his sweetheart to look out for dolphins, while he got down on one knee during sunset.
Unable to contain her surprise the reality star confessed she blurted out some choice words seeing her man holding up the rock. “It was a total surprise,” Doute told Us about the romantic moment.
The Valley couple went public with their relationship in December 2022, after they connected at a friend’s wedding in June. Serving as bridesmaid and groomsman meant they already got their practice in at walking down the aisle.
Doute initially had her doubts: “I battled with being, like, your person. I love you so much, but just the thought of being someone’s girlfriend again threw me through a loop because I want to be a wife and I want to be a mother.”
She sadly added: “Most of all, I just want to be a mother and a partner. And I was so tired of being a girlfriend for a couple of years and then having s*** fall apart.”
During her time on Vanderpump Rules Kristen got serious with three former love interests. Fans got to witness the highs and inevitable lows of these relationships that never worked out in the long term.
‘Ex-GF looks great on you’
In an Instagram post on September 10, the Bravo star is seen biting her finger and showing off that glistening diamond. A shirtless Broderick is standing behind her holding up a white “future Mrs” sash.
The 41-year-old has comedically captioned the post: “Entering my ex-girlfriend era.”
Her husband-to-be has responded to the cute shot by commenting: “What a week in Maui baby!! Told you we’d never forget it.”
Fans, friends, and family have also taken to the comments section to share the good news.
“So happy for you! Mazel tov baby! You deserve all the happiness in the world!” Commented fellow reality TV star Patti Stanger.
Another responded to her caption saying: “Ex-GF looks great on you.”
One fan was delighted that after all this time they could finally see Doute get her ‘happy ever after’ sharing: “You’ve waited so long for your Prince Charming!”
