Kyle Cooke is clearing up a long-standing rumor about what actually went down with Craig Conover at his wedding to Amanda Batula.
Shortly after the Loverboy founder and CEO tied the knot with the Amanda Batula Swim creator in September 2021, speculation began circulating that the Southern Charm-er had gotten kicked out of the wedding.
While the spouses were tight-lipped about the rumor for years, Kyle confirmed it was true on Season 9, Episode 5 of Summer House (which aired on March 12).
"I value and I treasure my friendship with Paige [DeSorbo], and I probably even more so value Amanda's friendship with Paige. And I don't want to mess that up," Kyle said about his drama with Craig, which resulted from Craig's deal with Spritz Society. "But, with Craig coming next week, there's a lot that was said that's just not true that he's made no attempt to clear anything up."
"Am I the first person to catch Craig blatantly lying?" Kyle continued in his interview on the episode. "No. Like, make no mistake, the guy got kicked out of my wedding. He continues to lie about that."
What did Craig Conover say about the rumor he got kicked out of Kyle and Amanda's wedding?
In an interview with Us Weekly in June 2024, Craig said that the leak about getting kicked out of Kyle and Amanda's wedding was "made up."
He then shared his perspective on what happened. "We had a really good time at the wedding and then when we already were leaving I basically was made sure to be like, 'You know what? I don’t think you need to come back in here.'"
Craig continued, "It was a filmed event. I think if I was kicked out, we would’ve seen it on TV. But, to be fair, I was asked to not come back in, in case I wanted to decide to come back in."
What happened between Kyle Cooke and Craig Conover?
The drama between Kyle and Craig began when the attorney decided to invest in the alcohol brand, Spritz Society. While Craig said that he had alerted Kyle about the deal, Kyle wanted a day to come up with a possible proposal for the Southern Charm-er to invest in Loverboy instead.
When Craig went ahead with the competitor brand, Kyle felt like it had already been a done deal when Craig contacted him.
He then sent "rage texts" to Craig's then-girlfriend, Paige, about the ordeal (and about recent comments her best friend, Hannah Berner, had made about Kyle on a podcast).
Paige and Kyle got into an argument at Lindsay Hubbard's sex reveal party, though they made amends at the top of Episode 5.
Craig is set to spend a weekend in the Hamptons on Season 9, Episode 6, so viewers will have to stay tuned to find out if the one-time friends will be able to make amends.
