Kyle Richards is explaining what made her return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after temporarily quitting amid production on season 14.

Kyle Richards Shares New Reason She Returned to RHOBH After Quitting, Shades Cast for Turning Backs on Her as Bozoma Slams "Ridiculous" Breakdown and Calls Out "Victimization," Plus Garcelle Admits She Thought They'd "Never See Her Again"

After breaking the fourth wall as she attempted to defend a text message she sent to Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57, amid his separation from Dorit Kemsley, 48, Kyle, 56, revealed why she came back as Bozoma Saint John, 48, shaded her over-the-top dramatics and Garcelle Beauvais, 58, admitted to thinking she was done with the show for good.

“I know that after 14 years of being on this show, [production has been] family to me, and through all my ups and downs, [they] have been a constant in my life. And I thought to myself … ‘What would I do if all of a sudden that’s removed from my life too?'” Kyle recalled on the January 21 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “I [felt] like, at [that] point, I didn’t want there to be another loss.”

Although Kyle ultimately made the decision to return to filming, she thought she was “done” at the moment.

“I left that thinking, ‘I’m done. I don’t need friends like this. I don’t need the money. Why am I here?’” she recalled. “Boze seems to really just only see through Dorit’s lens, everyone, because they’d spent time together. And Dorit was just coming at me nonstop, and then [Sutton Stracke] and Garcelle, who are my friends, who know who I am, were all the sudden back in it with Dorit, which makes no sense because they’re always coming for Dorit, and then here I have [Erika Jayne], the only one who’s standing up for me. Even Dorit came out. And then Sutton didn’t. And I’m like, ‘Wow, this is just like, bam, bam, bam.’”

Because her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky, 54, and daughter Alexia Umansky, 28, had just moved out of her home, Kyle was feeling “really alone” and overly “emotional.”

“I was run down. And I thought, ‘I’m tired of having my character questioned when I know that everyone here knows who I am.’ I just thought, ‘I’m gonna remove myself from this. If they want to pick on people so badly and look for flaws in everybody and try to find a problem, then they can do that amongst themselves because I’m out,'” she continued. “And for the first time ever, I said, ‘I’m not shooting,’ and production said, ‘We understand. Take a moment.’”

According to Sutton, 53, she didn’t follow Kyle out of the spa because she was “tired of talking about the text.”

Meanwhile, Jennifer Tilly, 66, didn’t take Kyle seriously, explaining, “I didn’t think she was quitting. I thought she was causing a big commotion because she didn’t like where the conversation was going, and that was her way of getting out of the conversation.”

Bozoma also questioned Kyle’s antics, describing her breakdown as “too ridiculous of a situation.”

“The reaction outweighed the accusation and so to me, I’m like ‘Hey look. Something doesn’t add up.’ The victimization is at an all-time high because she started it,” the newbie noted. “If she had simply said, ‘My text messages are innocent. There’s nothing to it. Here you go, look at it. We’re sending memes and jokes,’ there would be no further conversation. So I’m like, ‘Kyle, you can’t get upset about being challenged about this text message chain that you have with Dorit’s husband and then get mad at the rest of us for asking you what it’s about and then challenging you that like, ‘Hey look, this is inappropriate. It doesn’t look right.’ But don’t get mad and then stomp off.”

After Dorit admitted that she still cares about Kyle and explained that she followed Kyle out of the spa since she felt she’d be the “best person” to calm her down, Bozoma suggested Kyle “wouldn’t have done that for [her].”

“I promise you that,” she vowed.

As for Garcelle, she took Kyle’s exit to heart.

“I thought we’d never see her again,” she stated. “[Because] at the end of the day, Kyle was still going through a separation like Dorit, and sometimes we didn’t give Kyle the sympathy that she needed.”

“Or the grace,” Sutton added.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
