Larry Holmes Makes KO Prediction For Prime George Foreman vs Mike Tyson: “He’d Take His Head Off”

The two boxing legends were linked to a bout, but issues arose due to a number of factors, including Tyson losing to Buster Douglas and Foreman losing to Evander Holyfield.

It meant the bout never materialised and fell through, but the debate has often raged on since about who would have won if they had met in their primes.

‘Iron Mike’ is the youngest world heavyweight champion in history, claiming his first world title at 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old, and reigned as undisputed champion from 1987 to 1990.

Foreman holds the accolade at the opposite end of the equation, becoming the oldest world heavyweight champion at 46 years and 169 days old.

Another heavyweight icon that has weighed in on who would have won between Tyson and Foreman is former world champion Larry Holmes, who was knocked out by ‘Iron Mike’ in 1988.

While he may have lost that bout to Tyson, Holmes told Sky Sports that Foreman’s power would have made him an easy winner against ‘Iron Mike.’

“I ain’t knocking Mike Tyson, but no.. George Forman would win in two seconds, he hit too hard.

Anybody come at George Foreman you got to box like I did, or Ali did, you can’t stay there and take those punches. They take your head off. Bam, bam, it’s like the kitchen sink he’s hitting you with.”

Holmes isn’t the only man to predict a Tyson vs. Foreman fight, with legendary analyst and former ‘Iron Mike’ coach Teddy Atlas also sharing his thoughts.
