Las Vegas Raiders make roster moves ahead of matchup with Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8

The Las Vegas Raiders need some help going into this game against the Kansas City Chiefs, who are 6-0 on the year, while the Raiders are 2-5. The good news is, that Patrick Mahomes is playing the worst football of his career, and the Chiefs do look beatable, they just haven't been beaten yet, if that makes sense.

The Raiders don't really need to win this game if we're being honest. It would be great if they lost every single game left this season so that they could get the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and have their pick of anyone and everyone to choose from. We all know they need a quarterback, preferably one for the future, so they may start looking now.

But, the Raiders, and really any other team in the league, aren't just going to lay down on the road and let you run them over. They are going to play and they are going to try to win games.

And, if they're going to do that, when they should tank, they may as well try and make some roster moves that they think will help them. They are doing just that.

Here is what the Raiders tweeted out about the roster moves they made:

We have signed DT Zach Carter to the active roster from the practice squad. In a corresponding move, we have waived DT Nesta Jade Silvera.

Jade Silvera was a draft pick by Josh McDaniels in the last draft, and, he hasn't really lived up to what they thought he would be. They need help with their run defense, and they think Carter can do that.

The Raiders have a tough schedule the rest of the way with their next few games being against the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
