Leva Bonaparte Stuns Fans with Major Haircut: ‘Oops, I Did It Again’

Leva Bonaparte has jumped on the bob brigade.

After years of rocking medium-length hair, the Southern Charm restaurateur got the urge to make a dramatic change. And we mean dramatic. On Saturday, January 25, Leva revealed she had ditched her signature hairstyle in favor of a chic bob. 

“Oops i did it again,” she wrote over a selfie.

Leva opted for the classic princess bob with ends that fell just below the chin. She credited her “chop” to celebrity hairstylist Mac McAbee, owner of the Charleston-based salon Coven Haircraft.

“Yall know every few years I rage cut!” Leva captioned the post. “There is something therapeutic about it for me? I don’t know.”

The Southern Hospitality boss theorized she was feeling “too connected” to her old locks and was, perhaps, becoming too “nit picky.” So rather than fuss over her hair, she decided to “smash it.”

“I do, did love my long hair but well something was burning inside to chop it!” she continued. “So surprise we BOB-ing now with the new look! As i told my son [Lamar “Little” Bonaparte, Jr.] It’s just hair! i don’t know if resonates to anyone or I’m alone in this one! Thank you [Mac] for helping me rage without kitchen aid shears this time!”

Leva admits she is "a little insecure" about her hair change

Mac, who has worked with Leva for many years, also provided a peek at the cutting process. He shared a video of Leva sitting in the salon chair as he chopped several inches from the back.

“The cats out of the bag!! We chopped [Leva’s] hair off!!” he captioned the January 25 Reel. “The BOB is the moment!! Hands down my favorite haircut we have ever done!!! We had been talking about doing it but she walked in after interviews and was like Let’s Chop it! It was either I do or she was going to do it with the trusty kitchen aid shears. Thank you for always trusting me!! What do yall think about the new hair?”

"That's [fire emoji]," Madison wrote in the comments section.

Leva thanked her castmate for the compliment but admitted she wasn't quite used to it.

"Awe thanks boo," she replied. "Dunno feeling a little insecure in it still... but here we are and I’m gonna lean all the way into it."

Look back at Leva's previous "chop"

As Leva mentioned in her post, this isn’t the first time she’s received a drastic “chop.” Back in 2020, the mother of one surprised fans when she revealed a much shorter hairdo courtesy of Mac. 

“So when I’m feeling out of sorts… ppl who know me know i grab the kitchen sheers and get after my hair,” she admitted in the December 6, 2020, post. “Chopped it ALL off (no they weren’t extensions all mine) Thanks for making it nice tho.”
