Lindsay Arnold didn’t have to reveal the details of her 2025 elective surgery, but she explains why it was important for her to share her journey with fans. The former “Dancing With the Stars” pro had breast augmentation surgery in January and kept her followers in the loop.
In a May 2025 interview with E! News, Arnold explained why she prefers not to hide any of her life from social media.
“I knew full well I would get a lot of hate, and a lot of people sharing their opinions about it — mostly negative — but then a lot of positive,” she shared. “I wanted people to know that I don’t care if I’m going to get that because it’s my body, it’s my life, and that’s how I want everyone to feel about their own body and their own lives.”
Arnold continued, explaining, “It’s something that I really wanted to do for me, truly for just me. I want to help other people understand that it’s OK to do that. It’s OK to do things for yourself. It’s not selfish. It’s self-love, and I hope that it kind of helped remove some of that stigma around that surgery.”
The dancer noted, “My whole mentality with social media is I’m always gonna show up and be myself. I’m never gonna pretend. I don’t wanna hide. That’s just not who I am as a person, and so I’ve always known that I would never do that on social media.”
“But more importantly, I feel like it’s so normal on social media now to judge others and the decisions that they make for their own selves, for their own bodies, for their lives,” Arnold shared. “And I just wanted to be somebody who shows that, one, it’s gonna happen, but don’t let that change your decisions and what you feel is best for you.”
She added, “Don’t let the outside noise get to you, and just be confident in the things that you know will make you happy.”
Lindsay Arnold Was Nervous About the Surgery
Arnold first told fans about the surgery in a December 2024 TikTok video.
“My Christmas present this year is that I’m getting a breast augmentation,” she said in the video. “Guys, I’m freaking out … but I’m also so excited. That is happening in, like, a little over two weeks.”
Lindsay noted that she was taking a trip with her husband, Sam Cusick, and having the surgery after their return.
“I am turning 31 on January 11, and Sam and I are going to Mexico for a little getaway. We’re doing three nights and then we get home, and the next day, I am getting my breast augmentation. I am also getting a lift.”
