Lindsay Arnold Sets the Record Straight on Her Career After DWTS

“Dancing With the Stars” alum Lindsay Arnold left her role on the show after Season 30 to focus on her family. But her passion for dance didn’t end when she stepped away. Arnold later launched “The Movement Club” in 2023. But leaving the show was not an easy decision, and now, in a recent interview with Maggie Sellers for “Hot Smart Rich,” she is revealing how her life changed.

A clip from the interview was posted on Instagram on May 21, and Arnold spoke about her feelings when she first joined DWTS for Season 16 in 2023. “That was my everything,” she said. “That was like peak for me.” At the time, she was 19 years old and was the second-youngest pro dancer to have joined the show.

Lindsay Arnold Clears up the Confusion About Her Work

Arnold worked hard to make the show successful and won the Mirrorball Trophy alongside Jordan Fisher in Season 25. But since leaving DWTS, she feels frustrated that people think she doesn’t work. “Since leaving ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ everyone just assumes that I don’t work,” she said in her interview with “Hot Smart Rich.” “I don’t think people genuinely understand that social media is a business. It’s just very interesting how people love to try and pick apart how people make their money.”

She also discussed her thoughts on building “The Movement Club,” the at-home fitness program she created for women of all ages, and how she was “really proud of that pregnant, scared Lindsay who just, like, went for it.”

Arnold and her husband, Samuel Lightner Cusick, welcomed their first child, Sage, in November 2020. They welcomed their second daughter, June, in May 2023.

Lindsay Arnold’s Fans Show Their Support

Fans have expressed interest in her latest interview by commenting on the post and writing, “Lindsay.” The caption informs viewers that they will be sent the interview if they comment. “This is the side of Lindsay you’ve never heard — raw, grounded, and full of lessons for anyone building something of their own. Comment LINDSAY and we’ll send you the episode,” the caption reads. Unsurprisingly, there is a lot of interest in what this DWTS alum had to say.

However, this is not Arnold’s first discussion of moving away from reality TV. “A lot of my priorities and where I wanted to spend my time… it just shifted,” she told People in January 2025 about how motherhood changed hr life. “My mindset shifted. Time goes 10 times faster when you have kids, and I just know that this time is so precious and something that you don’t get back.”
