Lindsay Hubbard isn’t here for haters criticizing her decision to monetize her pregnancy.
The “Summer House” star was a guest on Jason Tartick’s “Trading Secrets” podcast on Monday, where she spoke about how “very torn up” her bump debut made social media users.
The Bravolebrity notably teamed up with Clearblue in July to reveal that she and her mystery boyfriend, later identified as Dr. Turner Kufe, were expecting their first baby.
“They were like, ‘I can’t believe she monetized her pregnancy announcement,'” Hubbard, 38, recalled. “And it’s like, ‘Why not? I’m gonna make the announcement anyway, why not make money from it?’
“I used Clearblue, I used the digital test — that was the test I used back in April when I found out I was pregnant,” she continued. “So why not go to them and say, ‘Hey, I used your test, I’m about to announce my pregnancy, do you want to sponsor this?'”
The reality star, who called the brand deal one of the “biggest” of her career, explained, “This is how I make my money. I’m not doing PR anymore, I’m not sitting behind a desk.”
Hubbard revealed to listeners that she had already passed $100,000 in social media revenue for the year, making more than $28,000 — her starting salary in PR — on the Clearblue promotion alone.
The episode, notably, was filmed prior to the former Hubb House PR president giving birth to her baby girl, Gemma, earlier this month.
The new mom partnered with Jimmy Johns when her little one arrived, posing in her hospital bed while eating a sandwich.
“You have nooo idea how long I’ve been waiting to eat a good sandwich,” she captioned the upload, referencing one of her viral lines on the Bravo show. “Go get you a sandwich that you look at the way Baby Cub looks at my boobs!”
Later that same week, Hubbard shared shots from her labor and delivery with her nearly 700,000 followers.
“What a beautiful journey to finally meet our baby girl. When it was ‘go time,’ it felt like such an intimate, spiritual ceremony with just us — filled with so much hope and excitement for this new chapte,” she recalled.
The former PR expert also hinted at her plans to have another child by concluding, “A special thanks to our doctor and the team of nurses who took incredible care of us during our hospital stay!! Until next time….”
Throughout her pregnancy, Hubbard also worked with JMY Interiors on her nursery.
She filmed Season 9 of “Summer House” while expecting, which she defended from “beyond confusing” trolls in July.
