Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans are proving love really is blind!
A year after their wedding, the couple reflected on their first impressions of one another when meeting face-to-face for the first time during an appearance on the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast. When hosts Brandi and Tish Cyrus questioned if they had any confessions about their Love Is Blind experience, Taylor shared their true feelings from reveal day.
“Garrett and I weren't initially really attracted to each other,” she said before Garrett chimed in: “Hold on, hold on. Initially, as in at the reveal.”
He went on to explain that the moment they finally saw each other was much more intense than viewers think.
“It's supposed to be this beautiful, wonderful thing — it's shocking is what it is,” he said. “It’s like lightning striking you for 20 minutes, and you walk out of there and you're disoriented, like you forget what she looks like, it's crazy.”
Taylor said there were so many emotions that “your brain just explodes” and it became hard to take in who was standing in front of her.
“It's dead silent, there's like 70 cameras and you're like, ‘Okay, we're going to kiss right now,’” she said.
“You can hear your heart pounding and you're just exhausted emotionally afterwards,” Garrett added.
Once they met, the two went back into the pods until it was time to go on their trip to Cabo, and Garrett shared that he told the other guys he wasn’t sure if he was “into her.”
“You get the Cabo and then we met up with the cast for the first time at that first cast party and Ramses [Prashad] and Tyler [Francis] were like, ‘You were tripping bro,’ and I'm like, ‘I know I'm tripping, like I don't know what happened.’ But yeah, we were both way good after that.”
Thinking back on that initial interaction, Taylor joked that she enjoyed kissing Garrett so she knew there was some attraction between them.
“I was like, ‘Less words, less words, [let me] make out with you,” she laughed. “They should really have the staff chanting: ‘Kiss, kiss, kiss.’”
Earlier in the episode, Taylor confessed that Garrett isn’t her typical “type” physically, but his personality fits what she looks for in a partner.
“Usually I date blond guys, that's why my mom was like, ‘He's not your type,’” she explained. “But when you talk to him, he is very intelligent and kind and respectful and that's more who I go for.”
All seven seasons of Love Is Blind are now streaming on Netflix.
