Love Is Blind season 8 stars Mason Horacek and Meg Fink rekindled their pod relationship in the real world after a brief breakup.
Mason, 33, and Meg, 31, confirmed their romantic reunion on the Thursday, April 3, episode of the “Dear Shandy” podcast, detailing how they complement one another.
“Something we recently talked about was the fact that I am a little bit more Type B [and] always in the clouds, more last minute with things, day-dreamy and he’s a lot more grounded,” Meg explained. “[He’s] like, ‘Let’s focus on what we need to do and then we can daydream.’”
She added, “One of my really good friends said, ‘When you’re someone who’s more Type B and go-with-the-flow, you’re the kite and you need to find someone who’s a stake in the ground that will let you blow with the wind.’ I feel like that’s what I have found in this relationship, which has been really nice.”
Mason and Meg met in the Love Is Blind pods when the show came to Minneapolis in spring 2024 for season 8, which aired on Netflix in February. During the dating experiment, Mason was especially torn between Meg and fellow contestant Madison Errichiello. All three ultimately left the show single, but Mason and Meg reconnected in the real world.
Their relationship, however, was short-lived as Mason and Meg proclaimed to be better friends than a couple during the Love Is Blind reunion special that aired last month.
“We’ve been there … this entire year for each other, just [through] thick and thin,” Mason said. “I’ve never really had that in a partner and it’s been a breath of fresh air, especially for something this crazy and something that has a lot of trauma. [We had] a trauma bond together.”
Mason and Meg also weren’t apart for long. As the oncology nurse recalled on the “Dear Shandy” show, she only went on a single date before getting back together with the cinematographer.
“Truthfully, I only went on one date this past year and it was after we broke up the first time,” Meg recalled. “I’m like, ‘Alright, I need to start moving on. I need to go on Hinge.’ The first Hinge date I go on was actually the guy who was a part of Lauren [O’Brien]’s story line the entire show.”
Lauren, 32, got engaged to now-ex Dave Bettenberg during season 8, later revealing that she had a preshow casual fling with a man whom Dave, 33, knew in passing. (Dave struggled to get over her past romance, one of the problems that led to their eventual breakup.)
“When I tell you I did not go on a date again after that because I truly felt if I dated someone now it’s gonna be someone’s brother [or] someone’s ex,” Meg quipped, joking about how “small” the Twin Cities actually are. “I was like, ‘I’m over it.’ I left [the date] and I called Mason.”
