After (kind of?) getting over the much-talked about TikTok accusations against Ben — for a full breakdown on that, head here — Sara, 29, and Ben, 28, moved forward with their wedding plans as the final step in the Netflix experiment.

“I was very conflicted,” Sara told Us Weekly about her state of mind leading up to the altar. “I was trying to soak in all this information that I was receiving in such little time to make such an important decision.”

The oncology nurse explained that it’s “overwhelming” to process your strong feelings for someone in such a short period of time.

“You love this person and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is my person. This is a beautiful concept and it’s working for me,'” she explained. “And then you’re trying to get every little detail [about them].”

Sara struggled with feeling like she was “expecting too much” or being too “harsh” with Ben as she asked him questions about his values and religion. Fans subsequently saw the twosome go to service together.

“At the time, I thought he was being truthful saying like, ‘It’s OK. I don’t want you to ever feel obligated,’ I also know it’s important to him,” she told Us. “It’s very interesting watching the episodes back because I realize how important religion really is for him in the last couple episodes, and I never heard that from him [during the experiment]. … You would think someone religious or with that [level of] spirituality would want their partner to have the same level.”

While some viewers are confused about how they reached an engagement to begin with, Sara told Us that she was confident in the pods. In addition to them having “good banter” and a lighthearted relationship that fans didn’t really see, she felt confident about his openness when it came to talking about difficult topics.

“I talked to Ben for 20 [or] 30-plus hours [in the pods]. You literally talk about everything under the sun. You talk about family, you talk about all your interests, your background,” Sara said. “I know that everyone is on a different wavelength. Everyone’s on a different path — we’re all evolving, growing people and we only know what we know, but the conversation matters. That’s why having the conversation for me is important because I’m curious, but I also want a partner who’s curious, I want to live and learn and grow. We may never have all the right answers, which is fine, but being actively present in the real world of what’s happening around us I think is important. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a right or wrong answer. I have a foundation of those beliefs, but also I do like learning about different perspectives and I just wanted to have a conversation.”

Fans will have to wait until the Friday, March 7, finale of Love Is Blind to find out whether Sara and Ben say “I do” or “I don’t” at the altar.
