The Kansas City Chiefs have been an ever-present in the playoffs under Patrick Mahomes and will play in their seventh straight AFC Championship game on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
Having won the last two Super Bowls, the Chiefs have gotten everyone's best shot from Week 1 and, so far, have managed to stand tall and fend off the challenges of nearly everyone.
But the one team that got them when they had all their starters playing was the Buffalo Bills. Now facing Sean McDermott's team with a trip to the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes is ready to leave everything out on the field.
“It's the AFC Championship game, you got to put it all on the line in order to win and try to get to the Super Bowl,” Mahomes said, making his prediction at least in terms of effort. “This is a great football team we're going up against, so I think all of us are going to go out there and give everything we have.”
The Chiefs and Bills have an odd history, with Buffalo winning their last four regular-season contests against Kansas City, but conversely, Andy Reid's team has won the last three playoff games against the Bills.
So something has to give, right?
With the Chiefs not playing their best in the win over the Houston Texans, as Mahomes stated, they will have to put it all on the line against a Buffalo team that can beat you in several ways.
A trip to the Super Bowl is on the line, and both teams won't be taking a backward step as two of the best quarterbacks in football duke it out.
Mahomes is aiming for his fourth Super Bowl appearance, Josh Allen his first.
Buckle up, folks.
