Mark Ballas signed on for “The Traitors” Season 4 and had to be away from home during the duration of filming, which took place in a castle in Scotland. This meant Ballas had to leave behind his wife, BC Jean, and their toddler son, Banksi. But their reunion was the sweetest thing, and it has left their loved ones and fans emotional.
Being apart from his little boy was incredibly difficult for Ballas, who shared a sweet clip of their reunion on Instagram on July 7. The clip shows Banksi running down the hallway of their home to greet his father. In the caption, the DWTS pro wrote, “The best hug I’ve ever had #dad #son.” The text overlay on the video also provided more context, as Ballas shared that he had been away for 30 days and referred to his son as “my baby boy.”
Their sweet pet dog was also excited to have Ballas home. The clip gives a rare glimpse into Ballas’ family life, and Jean responded to the video. “My boys I love how excited Hendrix was to surprise Banksi with you. ‘Yay Dad’s home!!!’” she commented.
“Dancing With the Stars” pro Jenna Johnson wrote, “Sobbing!!!! So so sweet.” Julianne Hough also reacted with a collection of emojis, including a red heart and a crying face emoji. Daniella Karagach also responded with three crying face emojis.
Derek Hough wrote “My boys,” and Pasha Pashkov commented with three red heart emojis.
Fans were also moved by the emotional moment. Reactions include, “Awww this is the sweetest thing,” “Omg that’s the best right there,” and “Such a beautiful moment.”
Ballas was among the contestants cast on “The Traitors” Season 4. Some of the other stars include NFL players Travis and Jason Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, “The Bachelor” star Colton Underwood, “Love Island” alum Maura Higgins, and comedian Ron Funches. The winner receives a cash prize of $250,000.
Content creator Louis Levanti shared his thoughts on Ballas’ inclusion on the show ahead of its release, questioning why he was cast. In his video, he stated that other DWTS alums would be a better fit. Ballas reacted to the post and showed off his Mirrorball Trophies to shut down the idea that he was not deserving of his spot. And, it is a spot that his highly coveted.
