Maxx Crosby Gets Honest About What Raiders Have to Do This Offseason

After fighting through a high ankle sprain throughout last season, Maxx Crosby is expecting a bounce-back campaign with the Raiders in 2025. Las Vegas' star defensive end was limited to 12 games in 2024 and underwent season-ending ankle surgery back in December.

The team mustered a 3-2 record without Crosby, and the two-time All-Pro was confined to the sidelines due to injury for the first time in his six-year career.

Crosby returned to practice in May after five months of rehabbing his ankle, joining his new-look Raiders squad after an active offseason for the team.

During this year's Sack Summit, Crosby spoke on building rapport with new members of the front office and the coaching staff, inking a three-year, $106.5 million deal with the Raiders in March.

"It's an honor," Crosby said of his extension, via Tashan Reed of The Athletic. "Having the Raiders with a new staff and new regime come in and show me that type of respect. It means the world. Like (John Spytek) said, it's not what I've done, it's what I'm about to do... And we've got a lot of work to do."

In limited action, suiting up in 12 games, Crosby logged 45 tackles, 17 for loss, and 7.5 sacks in 2024, earning the fourth Pro Bowl bid of his career.

The Raiders brought in general manager John Spytek in January after moving on from Tom Telesco, and landed Pete Carroll as the team's 24th head coach in franchise history. Spytek and Carroll showed their belief in the team's biggest star, offering him a three-year extension despite coming off ankle surgery.

The team will be tasked with getting up to speed under a new coaching staff, with new players stepping up throughout the roster.
