Mika Zibanejad Suffers Steep Fall in Perceived Value as Rangers Consider Trade

Mika Zibanejad was once a top tier forward in the NHL, but now, he's suffered a major drop off in the eyes of the fans after a recent poll revealed his standing and the shocking fall he's taken since the summer of 2024.

Mika Zibanejad Suffers Steep Fall in Perceived Value as Rangers Consider Trade

Just two seasons ago, the New York Rangers were a few games short of the Stanley Cup Finals, with veterans like Chris Kreider, Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad playing in career best form.

Now, things have completely changed, with the team re-tooling their roster since then by trading Kreider, and in all likelihood, the team would have dealt Zibanejad by now if not for a full no-trade clause.

We now know exactly how far Zibanejad has fallen thanks to a recent poll from social media analyst JFresh, who conducted his annual poll of the best forwards in the National Hockey League.

Obviously, this is just in the eyes of the fans, but that shows how far Zibanejad's value has dropped, as he went from No. 37 on the list a season ago all the way down to 101 this year.

That's a massive drop off, only beaten by a few players to fall the furthest with someone like Kreider falling off the list entirely, but for a team that potentially wants to trade No. 93, this is the last thing that they want to see.

While Kreider has been moved, Zibanejad is staying put for now, so perhaps on a different line and after a career worst season he can find the motivation to bounce back in 2025/26, and if that doesn't happen, it's safe to say that he'll become an easy target for hate amongst Rangers fans.
