Mika Zibanejad update stuns Rangers fans amid explosive trade rumors

But they've since purchased a new house in New York, and Mika recently met with new head coach Mike Sullivan, clearly not the action of someone who's not planning to remain with the team.

"We just had Mika's new coach [Mike Sullivan] here at our home; he flew over from New York recently,' Irma said. 'We also just got our new home in New York. I'm always shocked about how newspapers just spread things without considering the source."

Irma's comments follow a story last week from The Athletic's Arthur Staple, who surmised that the team and Zibanejad "worked it out" regarding a potential trade.

Staple also suggested the 32-year-old center is now more likely to waive his no-move clause.

Zibanejad has five years left on his eight-year, $68 million deal with a complete no-trade clause. He scored 58 points in 80 regular-season games last season.
