Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, and Mike Tyson, legends in the realm of boxing, all concur that "Sugar" Ray Robinson stands atop the sport as the all-time greatest.

Boxing enthusiasts continue to hotly debate who deserves the title of 'greatest of all time.' Opinions are drawn from a range of criteria such as championship successes, fighting styles, and larger-than-life qualities like charisma and determination.

For many fans, Ali, who once admitted he would lose to Mike Tyson in his prime, but Tyson himself disagreed, epitomizes the peak of boxing excellence. Known universally as "The Greatest," Ali's legacy, punctuated by his 56-5 record, has touched countless lives beyond the ring—Tyson included.

Foreman, another titan within the sport, faced his first defeat at Ali's hands in the legendary "The Rumble in the Jungle" in 1974. Undeterred, he left the ring with an impressive 76-5 record and was crowned the oldest heavyweight champ at age 46.

Then there is Mike Tyson: a controversial figure whose sheer knockout force was undeniable, exemplified by his 50-7 tally, including two matches ruled as no contests.

Strikingly, despite their own monumental careers, these three greats point to Robinson as boxing's finest.

Ali openly expressed his admiration: "My idol when I was growing up was Sugar Ray Robinson," declaring: "He was the greatest of them all."

Robinson remains an iconic figure in boxing, having fought over 200 times professionally and capturing world championship titles on six distinct occasions. Boasting a remarkable 174-19-6 record with two no contests, he achieved an impressive 109 knockouts during his career.

His list of accomplishments are punctuated with numerous milestone victories, yet it's perhaps his victory in 1951, where he bested Jake LaMotta to secure the middleweight title, that stands as his most celebrated triumph.

Boxing great George Foreman has gone on the record regarding Robinson, touting him as the top fighter he's ever witnessed. Foreman stated: "There's no doubt about it: Sugar Ray Robinson was the best I ever saw."

The boxing world reveres Robinson's name, including '80s and early '90s heavyweight titan, Mike Tyson, who had glowing words for Robinson's prowess and enduring legacy. Reflecting back on his career, Tyson remarked: "Sugar Ray Robinson was the greatest fighter that ever lived."

In 1965, after a storied and triumphant journey through the ranks of professional boxing, Robinson decided it was time to hang up his gloves, officially retiring following a loss to Joey Archer in his 201st fight.
