Mike Tyson was a force to be reckoned with during the height of his career.
The heavyweight icon exploded onto the scene just a short while after he turned 18-years-old and became a household name in no time at all.
After racking up knockout victories in his first 19 career outings, with 12 of those coming inside the very first round, Tyson went on to dethrone WBC heavyweight champion Trevor Berbick in 1986 to capture world honours for the first time and become the youngest heavyweight champion in history.
Victories over WBA champion James Smith and IBF champion Tony Tucker saw ‘Iron’ Mike achieve undisputed status just a month after his 21st birthday. It wasn’t until 1990 when he was dethroned by Buster Douglas in one of the sport’s biggest upsets.
Speaking in an interview on YouTube, Tyson sent a stern message to retired five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr, who he brandishes as ‘delusional’ following claims that he was a better fighter than ‘The Greatest’, Muhammad Ali.
“He’s very delusional, he can’t listen. If he was anywhere near that realm of great Ali he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself, he can’t take his kids to school by himself and he’s talking about he’s great? Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people, greatness is being accepted by the people, he can’t take his kids alone to school by himself, he’s a little scared man, a very small scared man,”
‘Money’ Mayweather called time on his career back in 2017 just months after he defeated MMA icon Conor McGregor in their crossover bout. The 48-year-old from Michigan remained unbeaten for the duration of his tenure, defeating all 50 of the opponents he faced.
