Mike Tyson Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Errol Spence Jr Can Ever Win Another World Title

Errol Spence Jr is yet to make a return to the ring after suffering the first defeat of his career.

The 35-year-old from Long Island, New York was beaten by pound-for-pound great Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford in the summer of 2023, losing out on the opportunity to become the first undisputed welterweight champion of the ‘four belt’ era.

Crawford dominated ‘The Truth’ from the opening bell, dropping him several times before eventually stopping him in the ninth round to cement his status as arguably the greatest welterweight of his generation.

It has been rumoured that Spence is nearing a return to the ring after just shy of two years out, although it remains to be seen whether the 35-year-old will make a comeback before the end of the year.

Speaking on the ‘Pound 4 Pound’ podcast, heavyweight legend Mike Tyson believes that Spence is capable of becoming a world champion for the second time, should he opt to lace the gloves up once again.

“I think Spence could come back and still get his title back, I really think so. I think Spence is an underrated fighter, I think he should fight one of those Charlo brothers at 154lbs, that would be a hell of a fight, they both have money, they go to the bank, take care of their families.”

It had been reported that Spence was in negotiations to face WBC and WBO light-middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora earlier this year, but a bout failed to come to fruition, leaving ‘The Truth’ waiting even longer for his return to the sport.
