The legendary heavyweight hadn’t fought for 19 years until he locked horns with the YouTube star turned professional fighter a few months ago, returning to the sport at 58-years-old.

The 8-round contest took place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, topping the first ever boxing event to be streamed on global streaming service Netflix. Tyson’s return was steeped in controversy, with many prominent figures in the sport urging him to not go ahead with it.

A visibly exhausted ‘Iron’ Mike went the distance with Paul, who was over 30-years his junior at the time, but lost to a wide unanimous decision. Both men refused to commit to a number of their punches throughout, which caused speculation that the fight was ‘scripted’.

Speaking to Fox Sports Radio, the 58-year-old was asked if there was anything he would change about the fight, to which he said he wouldn’t change a thing.

“No [nothing], not at all. Listen, I wouldn’t have remembered any of this if it was 3-minute rounds, I didn’t realise it.”

Tyson was defeated by the 27-year-old after all three judges scored the contest in favour of the younger man. In the days following, the former world heavyweight champion initially claimed he intended to continue his boxing career, but made a u-turn on his decision shortly after.

Paul extended his professional boxing record to 11-1 with a victory over ‘Iron’ Mike. He is expected to announce his next opponent in the coming months, with many urging the 27-year-old to make a significant step-up in opposition in his next outing.
