Boxing legend Mike Tyson is in the Republican camp for the upcoming U.S. presidential elections. 'Iron Mike' wants former POTUS Donald Trump to be re-elected to the Oval Office.

During a recent appearance on the IT IS WHAT IT IS podcast, the former undisputed heavyweight champion endorsed Trump, saying that he was "a good man":

"Trump is going to win. Yeah, it'd be nice if he wins, yeah. I have my reasons [for wanting him to win]... He is just a good man. Listen, I don't agree with all his sh*t. Nobody agrees with all my sh*t, but you know, they [are] good people. No one is perfect in this world. Everybody got their sh*t, you know. "

Tyson has a fascinating history with Trump. In the early days of his boxing career, he fought over a dozen times at the billionaire's hotels.

Suffice it to say, Tyson is far from the only prominent combat sports figure who endorses the former president. UFC CEO Dana White and many other top names in the promotion, including former middleweight champion Sean Strickland and former BMF champion Justin Gaethje, are astute Trump supporters.

When Donald Trump "stood up" for Mike Tyson

Donald Trump was among the few who stood up for Mike Tyson after he was convicted of r*pe in 1992. And it looks like this was when the politician earned a lifelong supporter in 'Iron Mike'.

During an appearance on the I AM RAPAPORT podcast in 2019, the 58-year-old elaborated on what prompted him to endorse the the billionaire during the 2016 elections:

"I like Donald Trump. Donald Trump stood up for me when they were talking bad about me and people were saying, 'What do you think about this convicted rapist saying he was for you?' He responds and he says he accepted me vouching for him. He accepted that and said Mike is my friend and I respected that... 'I don't want no r*pist campaigning for me.' He could've easily said that. He talked about the reverence in me. So I was like f**k, I wasn't going to say anything disrespectful about him either."
