New Bachelor Grant Wears His Emotions on His Sleeve: ‘It’s OK to Express How You Feel’ (Exclusive)

It’s time to get to know your new Bachelor, season 29 lead Grant Ellis.

“I’m Grant and I’m your new Bachelor,” Grant, 30, said in a video exclusively shared with Us Weekly. “I wear my emotions on my sleeve sometimes. It’s OK to express how you feel. What I wish is to be happy.”

The Bachelor Season 29 Lead Grant Ellis Wants to Be Happy See His Hopes for the Future:

While thinking about his next chapter, Grant envisioned growing old with his wife and “picking up kids from school.”

“We look forward to waking up and making memories,” he said of his ideal life in the video, which was set to “Stargazing” by Myles Smith. “I just want to raise my family and feel that love.”

After he tossed a rose at the camera, Grant said, “In this journey of life, what more could you ask for?”

Grant was announced as the next Bachelor in August following his elimination from Jenn Tran’s season 21 of The Bachelorette. (Jenn, 27, ultimately got engaged to Devin Strader but revealed during the live After the Final Rose in September that they called it quits while the show was airing. She’s now dating her Dancing With the Stars partner Sasha Farber.)

The next month, ABC released a first look at his potential contestants — which featured a Topanga from Boy Meets World doppelganger in Alli Jo and one of the youngest contestants in the franchise history, 23-year-old Andrea.

While Grant will have to remain tight-lipped about the outcome of his season, the trailer — which was released in November — showed him struggling to figure out which contestant was The One.

While on a date, Grant showed his lone wolf tattoo and shared that the ink symbolized “being alone.” Grant was also seen telling season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei that his “biggest fear” is ending up “alone” at the end of the show.

Before the trailer ended, Grant admitted he wasn’t sure which of his final two would be his future wife.

“You feel like you know what you want to do?” host Jesse Palmer asked Grant, who replied that he wasn’t ready. Jesse continued: “We got both women, they’re here on standby, and of course, I have to know which to send first.”
