Longtime “Dancing With the Stars” pro Artem Chigvintsev has finalized his divorce from Nikki Garcia. The former couple, who share 4-year-old son Matteo, has been adjusting to their lives as single parents. Both have expressed how focused they are on their son during this period of change.
And while things didn’t work out the way that Chigvintsev had hoped, he recently admitted that he would like to have another child sometime down the road.
“I’d love to have one more,” Chigvintsev said on the February 18 episode of “The Glamorous Grind” podcast.
“My parents happily married for 50 years. They had the golden wedding and all that stuff and they played huge influence in my life. What family is how it should be, and I don’t know,” he added.
Elsewhere in “The Glamorous Grind” podcast, Chigvintsev shared how things look for him as a single dad.
“What is normally. Wake up, cook him breakfast, get him dressed to school, pack him lunch, cook him lunch, drive him to school, pick him up from school, talk about his day. Let’s go to playground,” the ballroom pro shared.
“He loves hot air balloons. Like he’s just obsessed with hot air balloons. Like he’s just obsessed with hot air balloons. Luckily enough, from where I live, we can see hot air balloons go up in the air pretty much like three days of the week,” he added.
Nikki Garcia Doesn’t Want More Kids & Doesn’t Want to Remarry
While Chigvintsev seems to be open to giving marriage and kids another go, Garcia is on a completely different page.
“I definitely do not want more kids. I am fine,” Garcia told Us Weekly in a report published on January 28.
“Just being 41, and I feel like I’m back to being myself finally. I’m just getting out of the toddler years and I don’t want to go back,” she explained.
Garcia went on to admit that parenting is tough. “I’m chugging cold brews to hang at the playground,” she said.
Garcia also said that she’s open to falling in love again — but she doesn’t want to get married again.
“I can definitely see myself falling in love again,” Garcia told Us Weekly in another interview. “I don’t think it’s going to be anytime soon.”
