As we noted covering the Pittsburgh Steelers having QB Shedeur Sanders in for a predraft visit (which also included a note on their interest in Aaron Rodgers), it is hard to know the motive behind NFL draft-related news at this point in the process. The Cleveland Browns have already had visits with QB Cam Ward and Sanders, as well as DE Abdul Carter and WR/CB Travis Hunter.
Those four players were expected to be the primary focus for the Browns with the second overall pick, but then they brought in two interesting defenders early this week as well. QB Tyler Shough was also brought in for an official 30 visit before the draft.
Add QB Jaxson Dart’s name to the list now, as Cleveland reportedly had him in their building on Tuesday:

A photo of Dart at the Cleveland airport circulated on social media prior to the above report:
Coming out of the Senior Bowl, there was a lot of hype regarding Dart, but some concerns were also noted by sources in the league. At a base level, Dart profiles as a quarterback who “can be a solid NFL starter because he is decisive and can read coverages.”
Cleveland has done their fair share of work on this year’s quarterback class, including with Dart:
There have been rumblings that some teams, including the New Orleans Saints and Steelers, might be higher on Dart than Sanders, but, as noted at the beginning, it is hard to know what is real at this point in time.
