NFL made a list, checked it twice, and handed out two lumps of coal for one Denver Broncos defender

The Denver Broncos are having the perfect season they needed to have in a rebuild year. They are firmly in position to make the playoffs if they can win one more game, even after their Thursday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers that saw them lose. They still have two games left, one against the Cincinnati Bengals and one against the Kansas City Chiefs, to get that done.

Hopefully, with this next game against the Bengals, they can get the perfect Christmas present get a win, and get into the playoffs. That would be a huge step in the right direction for this team and where they are at in their rebuild. One that that isn't a perfect Christmas gift, is what happened to one of their players on Saturday.

With the Broncos having played on Thursday, they had the freedom to watch the games on Saturday and Sunday. But, that also means they got some news regarding last week after they played their game this week. You see, the way NFL fines work, the fine comes out on Saturdays, the day before your next game. This time for the Broncos, it was a few days after their last game.

Broncos player fined twice for Week 15

One player for the Broncos was fined twice, getting a lump of coal for Christmas, and costing him a hefty amount of money.

The NFL is really cracking down on fines this year. They are fining players for most penalties that they get, or even things as far as a running back lowering his shoulder, or in other words, playing football.

For defensive back Brandon Jones, he was fined twice for their game against the Indianapolis Colts the week before this last.

According to the Gameday Operations site, Jones was called for an unnecessary roughness (hip-drop tackle) penalty that will cost him $16,883.00. He was also fined for an unnecessary roughness (late hit) penalty worth $11,255.00.

That is over $28 thousand alone just for that game. That is not the Christmas present he thought he would be getting.
