“Nothing About Her Is Normal”: DWTS Pro Ezra Sosa Gets Candid About His Time With Anna Delvey

The inclusion of Anna Delvey on “Dancing With the Stars” Season 33 has been hotly debated, but she appeared on the show alongside professional dancer Ezra Sosa. The pair was the first to be eliminated, and Delvey created an uproar when she responded to host Julianne Hough’s question about the experience and claimed she would take away “nothing,” Us Weekly reports.

Anna Delvey Interview: Returning to 'DWTS' and Relationship with Ezra Sosa (Exclusive)

Ezra Sosa Discusses Life After DWTS Season 33

DWTS Season 33 was Sosa’s debut season, and he reflected on the experience in an interview with Queerty, published on June 15. He was asked about how life had changed within the last year (as we get ready for Season 34), to which he replied that one of the “best parts” was the “Dancing With the Stars” tour.

He continued, “It showed just how much the season and all the work we put in meant to people,” Sosa said. “I really believe that energy will carry forward and help make ‘Dancing With The Stars’ bigger than ever. Hearing it in their voices and feeling it in the way people came up to us to introduce themselves was incredible. Moments like that make you feel like you’re on the right path.”

Also in the interview, Sosa shared his hopes for his future partner. “I really hope that at some point in my ‘Dancing With The Stars’ journey, I have the opportunity to be part of a same-sex couple on the show,” he said. “For me, it’s not just about representation. It’s about showing people that love, connection, and partnership come in many forms, and all of them are valid. Being able to share that on a stage as big as DWTS would be powerful.”

When Sosa shared a video on Instagram of himself teaching “American Idol” alum David Archuleta how to dance, fans reacted with positive comments and calls for this to be the next casting on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Ezra Sosa Discusses the Challenges Anna Delvey Faced on DWTS

Sosa was asked to reflect on his experience of working with Delvey, and he was very thoughtful in his response.

“I personally took away absolutely nothing! Just kidding,” he jokingly told Queerty about Delvey’s viral comments. “If there’s one thing I learned from working with Anna Delvey, it’s that dance can truly be an escape.”

Sosa commented on the pressure Delvey faced because she is a convicted felon. “Being in a room with someone who’s a convicted felon, trying to teach them to dance while the whole world is watching and judging, was intense,” he said. “There was so much outside noise trying to get into our space, but I recognized it early. I sat her down and said, ‘Whenever we walk into this room, we leave everything else behind. This is just about dance.'”
