In recent episodes of Off The Vine with Kaitlyn, who led The Bachelorette season 11, the veteran Bachelor Nation personality has been rewatching her season of the show with many of her suitors featured during her time as the lead. Sharing that he and Kaitlyn had stayed in a gorgeous hotel, Ben explained that he set an ice bucket down on the desk in the room overnight. The desk, which was a piece made in the 1500's, was ultimately ruined by condensation. "I got a text from the show being like, 'Hey, just to let you know, you cost us 50 grand," Ben shared.

What Ben Higgins’ Mistake Means For The Bachelor

The Bachelor Often Has To Foot The Bill For Its Stars

Revealing that his squeaky-clean Bachelor image wasn't exactly what it came across as on screen is interesting, especially hearing that he wasn't doing anything malicious but still found himself in trouble with production. While his mistake was clearly something done accidentally, knowing that The Bachelor production team had to cover for him is interesting. Ben's behavior was always made out to be nearly perfect.

On top of Ben revealing his mistake, understanding that Bachelor producers have money to cover incidentals of such high value shouldn't be shocking but is in some cases. Hearing that the show covered something so costly for a contestant is what's expected of the series, but their reputation makes it seem like they wouldn't actually handle something so expensive.

Our Take On Ben Higgins’ Fantasy Suite Mistake

Costly Mistake Should've Appeared On The Bachelor

Throughout Ben's time in the public eye, as well as other Bachelors, Bachelorettes, and contestants, there have been stories about the hilarious reality of making a reality TV show. Bachelor Nation tends to enjoy the goofier, more kitschy moments of a season, so revealing some of the more blooper-ish moments behind the scenes could have been enjoyable. The Bachelor should embrace the chaos moving forward.
