When the Green Bay Packers chose Jordan Morgan in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, general manager Brian Gutekunst and Co. believed the franchise had found a cornerstone offensive guard to anchor the interior of the offensive line in front of quarterback Jordan Love for years to come.
However, after injuries wreaked havoc on Morgan’s rookie season, the former Arizona standout has the opportunity to begin showing the Packers’ brass that they didn’t just make the right call, but that he can elevate the play of the rest of the offensive line in 2025, and beyond.
Packers’ Jordan Morgan Makes NFL All-Breakout Team
Former NFL Scout, and current NFL Media analyst, Bucky Brooks, put together his All-Breakout Team for the upcoming 2025 season, with Morgan making the cut at guard.
“Though he did not log many snaps as a rookie,” Brooks writes of Morgan. “Missing time with injury while also making a positional switch, Morgan could become a major contributor for the Packers as a swing starter. For now, I’m sneaking him in here as a guard, the position where he spent most of his time in 2024, though he could crack the lineup as a right guard or left tackle, based on how competitions unfold at training camp.
“While the 2024 first-rounder lacks the ideal length to play on the edge, he does have quick feet and active hands, which should help him keep Jordan Love upright in the pocket. If the franchise quarterback enjoys a banner season, there’s a good chance the second-year blocker will have played a major role in his success, presumably as either Love’s blindside protector or as a trench warrior at the point of attack.”
During his limited playing time last season, Morgan didn’t allow a sack and was only charged with allowing three quarterback hits by Pro Football Focus. His 2025 season could be even stronger.
How Morgan bounces back from a nagging shoulder injury and performs during camp could determine the trajectory of his 2025 season and whether he can live up to his bounce-back and breakout expectations.
