Tom Clements is a legend in Green Bay, and that's for good reasons.
Clements has been a long-time NFL quarterbacks coach and assistant who has played a role in developing some of the greatest quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen.
He's credited with coaching Brett Favre towards the tail end of his career and he's absolutely one of the people who developed Aaron Rodgers into a four-time MVP. Clements was on the staff of the Arizona Cardinals in Kyler Murray's first season and, after a brief stint in retirement, he came back to Green Bay in 2022 to help Matt LaFleur develop Jordan Love.
The Favre and Rodgers connection is what makes Clements elite, but he deserves credit for helping Murray get on his feet and the transition from Rodgers to Love has been smooth in Green Bay.
Speaking of the Packers, you can make the case that Clements has been one of their secrets to success since 2006, but the bad news for them is that now that the season is done, he's reportedly going to retire again.
It will be interesting to see who LaFleur finds to replace Clements, especially after Love seemingly regressed a bit in 2024. He'll need to hit on this hire, because the future of Love's career and the Packers' immediate future depends on the young quarterback finding his groove again in 2025.
