Packers’ Offense Ranks Inside Top 10 for Third Straight Year By PFSN

The Green Bay Packers managed to finish as a top 10 scoring offense in 2024 with Jordan Love battling through injuries for the majority of the season.

Well, despite a down statistical year from Love in his second full season as the Green Bay starting quarterback, one analyst still projects the Packers’ offense to be a top 10 unit in 2025.

Packers’ Offense Remains a Top 10 Group for Third Straight Year

Kyle Soppe of Pro Football & Sports Network kept it pretty short and sweet with his placement of the Green Bay Packers offense ranking eighth entering the 2025 NFL season.

Soppe wrote, “That’s consecutive eighth-place finishes for the Packers after checking in as the 10th-best unit in 2022.”

Steady consistency has been the name of the game for the Green Bay offense during the Matt LaFleur era, which found a way to still be a very productive offense even with their franchise quarterback dealing with multiple injuries throughout the 2024 NFL season.

Soppe added, “This isn’t the dominant offense of the Aaron Rodgers days, but it’s clear that Jordan Love is more than capable of leading Green Bay up and down the field, a necessity given the division in which they play.”

Soppe wasn’t the only analyst to place the Packers inside the top 10 offenses entering the upcoming season with Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report ranking the Green Bay eighth in the league after the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sobleski wrote, “Technically, the group slid a few slots on these rankings compared to last year’s top-five offensive finish. The team’s standing has less to do with it and more about a couple other squads better positioned to ascend.”

The slight fall of this unit could be attributed to Love’s slight regression through the air last season.

This saw the Packers turn to a more run-heavy approach, which led to the organization calling Josh Jacobs number 301 times on the ground in his first season in Green Bay.

Fortunately for the Packers, Jacobs produced over 1,600 yards and found the end zone 16 times in 2024 — which helped give Green Bay an offensive identity with a compromised quarterback.

The offensive line should be credited with some of Jacobs success last year, which potentially got even stronger this offseason with the addition of Aaron Banks via free agency.

Sobleski added, “First, the organization spent big to acquire Aaron Banks. His $77 million contract was the second largest among available interior blockers. Banks will slide into left guard, which will move Elgton Jenkins over the ball and upgrade at center.”

What Kind of Impact Will Matthew Golden Have on This Offense in 2025?

The real make or break for this offense for 2025 likely lies with the receiver room, which added the speedy Matthew Golden out of Texas in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sobleski added, “The team also did the near-unthinkable by drafting a wide receiver in the first round for the first time since 2002. Matthew Golden adds an explosive target to Jordan Love’s repertoire.”

Golden is a separation specialist who possesses 4.29 speed to help give Love a target on all three levels of the football field.

Christian Watson’s injury doesn’t help matters, but Golden joining Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Dontavyion Wicks feels like a receiver room that could be formidable in 2025.

If this position group shows growth in 2025, it could help Love reach his full potential in this Packers offense.
