Packers still believe they can beat anybody despite limping into playoffs

The Green Bay Packers (11-6) are the No. 7 seed on the NFC side of the playoffs, which means they'll have to head to Philadelphia this weekend to take on the second-seeded Eagles (14-3).

Ironically, the last time the Packers won the Super Bowl — which was Super Bowl XLV at the end of the 2010-11 season — they were the NFC's sixth seed, which at the time was the last seed. That postseason, they started their playoff run with a game in Philly against the Eagles.

There are comparisons to be made between that Super Bowl team and this Packers team  — mainly that they're young  — but in a piece by Rob Demovsky of ESPN highlighting the similarities between the 2010 team and this 2024 team, cornerback Kisean Nixon made an interesting comment.

The Packers may be limping into these playoffs off the heels of two-straight losses  —  with one being a heartbreaking last-second loss to the Chicago Bears that broke a massive winning streak Green Bay had going for it  — but they still believe they can beat anybody in these playoffs.

"It's not about who we can and can't beat," Nixon said. "We can beat everybody. If we figure out how to finish, we'll win games It's playoff time now. It's win or go home. So either we figure out how to finish or we go back to the crib."

The Packers have looked good at times this season but there's reason to feel down on them because of their 1-5 record against the rest of the NFC North.

The one thing that 2010 team had going for it though was self-confidence (well, and Aaron Rodgers) so it will be interesting to see if Nixon's attitude has permeated through Green Bay's locker room.

Whether or not that attitude leads to a win is a different story, but that's why they play the games.
