Summer House star Paige DeSorbo has been in the news quite a bit thanks to season nine of the show as well as both personal and professional changes. Now, she’s opening up about watching the show back, what she’s looking forward to for the upcoming summer in the Hamptons, and more in a new interview.
As fans know, Paige is also dealing with the public drama surrounding her much-talked-about separation from Craig Conover. This comes following the conclusion of her successful Giggly Squad tour with co-host Hannah Berner.
Paige recently sat down for a brief interview with US Weekly. One of the first notable moments came when the Summer House star was asked about her reaction to watching the season as it airs.
She said, “Definitely there are some parts that like are kind of hard, but then there are also some parts that are like very validating, and I think I’m really happy that people are seeing like how close Ciara and Amanda and myself are because I think sometimes in such a big group of people, and like a, we have such a large cast, you kind of like lose certain friendships or they’re not highlighted as much cuz there’s so much happening.”
The interviewer then asked if Paige felt validated by the show, as it gave a raw look at some of the aspects of her life that fans have reacted to negatively. She explained, “I don’t feel like more validated because it’s kind of like I always knew what happened, but I, I feel more, I would say like at peace.”
She added, “It’s like, I feel like it’s I’m like moving on with like certain parts of my life, and it’s so hard to film any reality show because, you know, like you get over certain things and then you have to wait for it to air, so it’s like I kind of was over it, and then I was like, oh, but now I’m not because everyone else has to like get over it, too.”
Paige then joked that rewatching some of the difficult parts of her life is like doing joint therapy with the fans, as they also have to process the situations as viewers.
When asked how she feels about going into the upcoming summer, Paige responded, “I’m excited. I haven’t been single for a summer in a while, but I’m also excited because I’ve never been single in my 30s, and I feel like it is just so drastically different than your 20s.”
The topic of dating also came up. Regarding what she’s looking for in a partner, Paige revealed, “Well, now compared to like 21, I don’t care if he can go out and like stay out and hang out with my friends. I’d actually prefer if he didn’t want to do that.”
She went on, “So now, I think I’m just like looking for someone that meshes easily with my life, and being a reality TV person isn’t like the easiest thing, so I think like they’d have to have some sort of love for reality TV.” Paige also said she’s not looking for someone who is on reality TV, but instead, someone who understands her lifestyle.
They also discussed the reunion. She said, “You know, it’s funny because I think this was one of the first reunions like collectively that we’ve had that there were a lot of laughing breaks. Like, there was just a lot of things that happened over the summer that had nothing to do with drama that was just funny and like fun for a group of friends.”
Paige then said, “Andy like truly laughed so much at this reunion that like there were times where he was like, ‘Okay, come on, we have to get serious and like do this.'” The host asked if Jesse Solomon laughed during the reunion, as it’s believed he was in the hot seat for much of it.
Paige joked, “You know, he probably laughed the least of us.” However, she said he didn’t leave the reunion as “defeated” as West Wilson did last season. She added, ” I actually still feel bad. Sometimes I see West and I’m like, ‘I’m so sorry I yelled at you so badly.'” She also said that Jesse talked more at this reunion than West did last year.
They also talked about Lexi Wood, and the interviewer asked how she felt the newbie handled her first season and the drama with Jesse. She said, “I think Lexi handled herself so beautifully, so graceful. I think she said exactly how she felt. I think she was like very emotionally intelligent when she was talking to Jesse, and I think she’s got nothing to lose. She’s going to be fine.”
Fans can watch part one of the Summer House reunion on May 28 on Bravo.
