Southern Charm season 10 was a mixed bag for many fans. Some enjoyed the direction of the show and compared it to other standout seasons, whereas others considered it a snoozefest. Part one of the reunion recently aired, and there are several key takeaways. What Craig Conover had to say about his breakup with Paige DeSorbo is one of the most significant.
As fans know, Paige and Craig officially called it quits in November 2024. This came after months of rumors of trouble in paradise, which led to questions about when they actually broke up, if one of them cheated on the other, and much more.
Craig had quite a bit to say about his breakup during the reunion for the hit Bravo show. Andy Cohen first asked him about being blindsided by her no longer wanting to be with him. Regarding whether Craig believes he missed some of the signs, he said, “No, like if I saw a red flag, I didn’t…” Unfortunately, a vase fell on set and distracted him from his original talking point.
Craig then said, “I will say that when we were together, in private, is what I based our relationship off of, and there weren’t signs.”
In talking about how the breakup happened, he explained, “She actually called and broke up with me after Thanksgiving when Austen and I were about to do a live show.”
Andy then pushed a bit and mentioned how Craig had said that he and Paige were still together around the time that he’s now admitting they were broken up. Notably, he’s referring to Craig’s Watch What Happens Live appearance from December 12.
When asked if he felt like he was being truthful in December, Craig admitted, “After a three-year relationship when a girl has asked you to buy her an engagement ring, and you did and asked you to move to New York, and you had agreed to move to New York, when you just get a phone call after spending a great Thanksgiving weekend with her, and then she was like, ‘We’ll talk about it,’ so like I didn’t think it was real.”
He went on, “After Watch What Happens Live, I went to her apartment just to be like, ‘What’s happening,’ and she was like, ‘I probably am making the worst mistake of my life, but I need to go find myself.'”
Craig also revealed that she told him to keep the ring because “maybe we’ll get married at BravoCon.” He continued, “This isn’t like we broke up, and it was over, and I moved on with my life. We had been planning our life together for three years, and she fantasized about the family and stuff.”
Craig then said, “So yes, I had been in a weird place throughout December, and we continued to talk throughout December. Two days before the new year, she texted me and said, ‘I just want you to know that I talked about it on my podcast that we’re no longer together.’ Then all my stuff just showed up on my porch one day, and then it became real.”
From there, he reiterated that Paige broke up with him after Thanksgiving, but he didn’t receive it as it was intended at the time.
The cast then weighed in, and most of them agreed that they learned about the breakup from social media. This prompted Craig to reflect more on the breakup, saying, “That’s what was confusing because then she said, ‘We’ve chosen to break up, but it was mutual,’ and I was like, ‘It wasn’t. There was nothing mutual about it.'”
He also had a few harsh-ish words for his ex. He said, “The person she’s been since the breakup isn’t the person I remember dating. She’s fighting with people in the comments, she’s starting to say mean stuff about me based on what the internet is saying.”
He added that Paige told him she didn’t break up with him for another man. Craig recalled, ” I asked her, please just tell me if you’re with another guy, like put me outta my misery, and she said, ‘Craig, I’m not talking or dating anyone.'”
As we previously reported, Paige was photographed holding hands with her rumored new beau, Joe D’Amelio, in February during the Super Bowl weekend.
Craig shared that she also asked why he didn’t try to fight to get her back. Ultimately, he said he felt he shouldn’t have to “beg” someone to be with him.
Of course, Paige caught wind of what Craig had to say about her saying mean things to him. She took to her Instagram Stories and said, “I’m as mean as you make me.” Paige has since deleted her post.
Paige also liked a post by the @Blocked_by_Jax Instagram account of her rolling her eyes regarding Craig’s claim that she suggested a possible elopement at the upcoming Bravocon, taking place in Las Vegas, following their split.
