In some major news for the Mahomes family, Pat Mahomes Sr. has been sentenced to five years probation in Judge Kerry L. Russell’s court.

This comes after Pat Mahomes was arrested in February for the third time on account of a DWI. When he was checked at a traffic stop, his blood showed an alcohol level content of 0.23 on February 24. Besides the five-year probation, he will also have his driver's license taken from him for a year and will have to have a breathalyzer ignition device installed on his vehicle, per a report from KCTV5.

The court ruled that after spending 10 days in jail, he would be placed under "intense supervision" for the Year 1 of his probation. To ensure that such an incident does not happen again, he will have to take AA courses as well.

Pat Mahomes Sr. did not seem to be too disheartened by the court's sentence. He took it in stride and said that ever since he was arrested for the third time in February, he hasn't had a drink.

“Hopefully it will enlighten someone else to take these measures and make sure this doesn’t happen again,” Pat Mahomes Sr said.

This comes at a time when his son, Kansas City Chiefs QB, Patrick Mahomes is trying to find his own mojo after a sub-par performance so far in the season.

Pat Mahomes Sr tries to attend as many games as he can, and when the judge was asked by reporters if he would be allowed to leave the county to watch his son play, Judge Russell deferred those decisions to his probation officer.

“It’s kind of a tradition; I normally go to all the football games. I know he enjoys me being there, so hopefully things will work out and I’ll be able to continue what I’ve been doing,” Mahomes said.

Patrick Mahomes is yet to comment on the ruling against his father.
