Patrick Mahomes' biggest rival can't help but hit Chiefs with low blow while discussing his future

Patrick Mahomes has a lot of rivals on the gridiron. That comes with the territory of being the very best and having won three Super Bowls before turning 29 years old. Mahomes has generally kept his cool when it comes to other players, but there's one who has consistently gotten under his skin: Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Given that Mahomes and Crosby see each other twice a year for division games, they know each other a little bit too well. Crosby's tenacious pass-rushing ability has led to a lot of hits on Mahomes, some of which the quarterback hasn't been overly fond of. At the end of the day, though, the two have talked about the respect they have for each other. But Crosby may have thrown that respect out the window on Friday.

Maxx Crosby says he would never join the Kansas City Chiefs

Thank you for watching

Appearing on the Up & Adams Show from New Orleans, Crosby mentions a new contract and a proper plan for the franchise's future as the main selling points to him staying in Las Vegas. In an unprompted way, Crosby also took a dig at the Kansas City Chiefs by claiming he doesn't want to be a ring-chaser.

I want to win, no matter what. I'm an ultimate competitor, I want a chance. I don't want to join the damn Chiefs and get a Super Bowl, that would mean absolutely nothing to me. I want to be a part of winning, in a culture that's about winning... I want to be a Super Bowl champ and a Hall of Famer.

A fair share of veterans have joined the Chiefs over the past couple of seasons, but there hasn't been an influx of free agents taking less money to join the team. That's something that was seen with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA, and the Miami Heat before them.

That doesn't really happen all that often in the NFL, so Crosby shouldn't feel bad if he were to join a perennial title contender. It just so happens that the Chiefs are the team he hates the most. So that would never happen.
