Patrick Mahomes' Blunt Opinion on Controversial Chiefs Accusation

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes finally broke his silence on the accusations that NFL referees were unfair during the Kansas City Chiefs' game against the Houston Texans.

The controversy started after Mahomes drew two roughing the passer penalties. One of the penalties occurred in the first quarter after Mahomes released a pass and was hit by the Texans' defensive end Will Anderson Jr.

The second penalty came in the third quarter when Mahomes slid late and was hit by Folorunso Fatukasi and Henry To'oTo'o.

Patrick Mahomes' Blunt Opinion on Controversial Chiefs Accusation

Mahomes' penalties sparked a national debate, but he remains firm that officials are only doing their best to make the right calls.

"I've learned that no matter what happens during the game, something is going to come out about if you win, if you continue to win." Mahomes said in an interview on 96.5.

"I don't really pay attention to it," he added.

Mahomes also acknowledged that he's been on both sides of these calls, but he said that the referees are trying their best to ensure the outcome of the game is decided by the players, not by the penalties.

The three-time Super Bowl champion also pointed out that despite the penalties, the Texans had their opportunities to win, including missed kicks and a weak offensive line.

He clarified an incident where he was accused of "flopping" by slowing down before being shoved out of bounds.

"I probably shouldn't have done that," Mahomes admitted, but maintained that his intention was to avoid a hit from the Texans' defensive player.

Mahomes remains confident in the Chiefs' abilities and the fairness of the game's officiating as the team prepare for their next game against the Buffalo Bills.
