There will be no Super Bowl parade for the Kansas City Chiefs this year.

Instead, it's the city of Philly that will be partying on Friday afternoon (February 14).

A massive parade is planned, with victorious Eagles players setting off from Lincoln Financial Field to weave their way through the city.

They will then celebrate with their fans in front of the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with thousands expected to gather.

Philly has a lot to live up to on Friday afternoon, because Super Bowl parades can get pretty wild - just ask the legendary Tom Brady - or even Mahomes.

Two years ago, it was the Chiefs who beat the Eagles to win Super Bowl LVII.

They celebrated with a championship parade a few days later, where Mahomes and his teammates displayed the Lombardi trophy to fans.

At one point, Kansas City's quarterback stole the show, when he got so excited that he accidentally gave a fan the iconic prize.

Wearing a custom-made WWE championship belt, Mahomes chugged beers and wore ski-goggles before he accidentally handed over the prestigious silverware to a fan in attendance.

Video footage showed Mahomes having a blast as he interacted with fans and posed for photos.

However, in his compromised state, he handed over the trophy to a fan and walked off.

"Patrick Mahomes was so wasted at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade that he gave a fan the Lombardi trophy", one person wrote at the time.

"Did bro just give them the trophy?" another asked.

"Damn, Mahomes just gave away the Lombardi like 'it's okay I'll get another one next year,'" a third added.

However, fan footage from the parade showed not all was as it seemed.

As someone pointed out, it doesn't appear the trophy Mahomes gave away was the actual Lombardi Trophy.

The NFL create many replica trophies for winning teams because presumably they don't trust players with the real thing.

The trophy Mahomes was in possession of had a Chiefs sticker plastered over it, which the real Lombardi Trophy doesn't have.

One fan confirmed the story that it was indeed a replica trophy when speaking to a radio station days after the parade.

"I came to the first parade with the same trophy - it's a replica by the way - he never handed me the real one," the man, named as Vinnie Garofalo said.

"He takes the trophy, raises it up, walks around, gives me a smile.

"Then he comes back, asks for the trophy again, walks away, gives it to Kadarius Toney. They're messing around with it, he comes back, I ask him for a picture, he graciously waited for me to fumble around on my phone to get a front-facing camera.

"Took the picture, handed me the trophy, which is what everyone saw, and went about on his merry way."

Even the greatest of NFL stars can have a moment to forget at the Super Bowl parade.

Now, it's up to the likes of Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and Cooper DeJean to deliver a viral moment on Friday.

And after Barkley gifted his entire O-line trucks of beer to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX win, things could certainly get a little wild.
