Patrick Mahomes is not around to stop Travis Kelce completing Presidential mission but makes quick exit to avoid ‘getting tasered’

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to visit the White House as Super Bowl LIV champions, but it was Travis Kelce and the Chiefs who stole the show last year in the nation's capital.

Travis Kelce finally got the chance to complete his presidential mission, but made a hasty escape to avoid being 'tasered'.

Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs star was among the names invited to the White House as part of the Super Bowl tradition for the winners to meet the President of the United States.

But as well as meeting Joe Biden, Kelce was given the chance to do something that he'd planned to do a year earlier.

Following the Chiefs' Super Bowl win in 2023, the team enjoyed a tour of the iconic Washington, D.C., residence and met with President Biden inside the Oval Office.

Afterwards, Biden and the Chiefs posed for pictures outside the White House with Kelce and Patrick Mahomes holding up a No. 46 Biden jersey.

A renowned prankster, Kelce then took his opportunity to pull off the ultimate prank by pointing into the distance to distract Biden before approaching the presidential podium to say a few words.

Stepping up to the mic, Kelce said: "So, I've been waiting to do this," before Mahomes intervened to say "Sorry! Sorry!" as he ushered his mischievous teammate away.

Following the incident, Kelce revealed on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason what he actually wanted to say.

"Obviously, the President at the podium, it’s iconic, right?," he said.

"It's iconic, and how he usually addresses the nation is 'To my fellow Americans'.

"To my fellow Americans. That's all I wanted to say, dude. That's it... I shouldn't have started with, 'I've always wanted to do this.'"

Fast-forward 12 months, and President Biden gave Kelce the opportunity he'd been waiting for, saying: "Travis, come here. It's all yours, pal."

"My fellow Americans," Kelce said to laughter. "It's nice to see you all yet again."

Kelce then told Biden he was going back to his place on the riser, explaining: "They told me if I came up here, I'd get tasered."

Those in attendance at the White House ceremony had hoped to get a glimpse of Kelce's girlfriend, Taylor Swift, however she was unable to attend due to her Eras Tour.

Kelce and the Chiefs will be hoping to be back at the White House next year as they fell just short of the first ever three-peat, falling to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIV.

This time around, it will be President Donald Trump welcoming Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and the rest of the Eagles into the White House as Super Bowl champions.
