Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s Viral Photos

Little over two years ago, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce lamented not being able to give Taylor Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it after seeing the “Eras Tour.” Now, Kelce and Swift are madly in love.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last May, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes revealed that if it wasn’t for him, America’s most famous couple might not exist.

“I’d like to take some of the credit,” Mahomes said. “I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concert…he was sitting in my suite — so I feel like I was the matchmaker.

“I had some input in there as well, I was like, ‘Dude, just go for it. Just go for it.’ And you know Travis, man, he does it. He’s a great dude and I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best.”

Last summer, Kelce traveled the world to support the pop star as she continued to perform her record-breaking “Eras Tour.” The All-Pro even joined Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium, putting on a top hat and suit during “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

One day before his surprise performance, Swift posted the first photo with Kelce on her Instagram page on June 22, 2024. The backstage photo, which also features Prince William, Prince George, and Prince Charlotte, racked up over 10 million likes.

Flash forward 13 months, and Kelce finally posted the picture of Swift on his Instagram page. The 13-photo album, which showed numerous highlights of their offseason adventures, racked up over 2 million likes on Thursday, July 24 — instantly becoming the 10-time Pro Bowler’s most-liked post ever.

Even Mahomes couldn’t help but show some love after Kelce finally hard-launched his relationship on social media. While neither the three-time Super Bowl MVP nor his wife, Brittany Mahomes, are featured in the album, he left a simple message in the comments, “❤️💪🏽.”

Mahomes, who’s best friends with Kelce, has championed their relationship since day one and is a huge fan of Swift. “I’ve met a lot of famous people now in my life,” Mahomes told TIME last year. “Taylor’s probably the most down-to-earth person that’s been on that stage for that long.”

“She’s never not working,” Mahomes added. “Even when she’s taking her downtime, she’s working on something. Shooting a music video or singing a song or writing a song. You can see it by how she talks.”

Mahomes also appreciated her genuine interest in football. “When she’s learning it, you can see her business mind putting it together. It’s almost like she’s trying to become a coach. ‘Why can’t you try this, this, and this?’ She’s asking the right questions.”

Taylor Swift Is Planning to Attend Numerous Chiefs Games This Season

Because she’s no longer traversing the globe on tour, fans can also expect Swift to be a regular at Arrowhead Stadium this season.

“Taylor is really looking forward to the upcoming NFL season,” a source told People. “Not just because she loves supporting Travis, but because for the first full season since they started dating, she’s not juggling a packed tour schedule.

“This fall will be completely different. It’s the first season where she’s not constantly flying back and forth or working around an entire touring calendar.” Now, she’s planning “to be at as many of his games as possible.”
